Permits and Inspections are required for water heater installations

The Nevada State Contractors Board is reminding C-1, C-1d and C-1h contractors to obtain building permits and schedule inspections for all water heater installations. 

Building departments have reported that some contractors are failing to obtain a permit while others who obtain a permit have failed to schedule the mandatory follow-up inspection. 

Permits and inspections are required for both the installation of new water heaters as well as replacement of old water heaters.

A contractor may be subject to discipline for violating Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 624.3011(2) if the appropriate permit is not obtained. 

For further information on permits and scheduling inspections, contact the local Building Department where the water heater will be installed.
